Charmer of Devara and Other Stories

Check out the April Edition of the magazine for just Rs. 49.  Here is a summary of a the stories.

Ell.P’s story, is a chilling tale of a woman at an asylum, who has forever been obsessed with 23:23, a particular time on the clock, that seems to be somehow related to her Siamese twins and their abnormally exclusive relationship.  This story brings the writer’s brutal skills out well.

Ashwin’s story follows a boy’s entry into hostel life. Life seems normal according to everyone else but him.  It is a story abound with sharp descriptions, and the pale numbness of reality.

Charmer of Devara, by VJ, is a story set in a quaint village, an Indianized pied piper with a twist. I thought the descriptions of the village were good.

Ankit’s story begins with a surreal silence, where the point of view finds himself dangling in what seems like limbo with a girl he had never seen before.

I’m happy to see newcomer Nidhi try out her writing skills in this book. Her story is one of a jilted lover.
